Sunmbo Adeoye, wife of Pastor David Adeoye and ex-wife of music star 2Baba, has shared an emotional testimony as she celebrates her son’s 7th birthday
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Sunmbo opened up about the difficult road she walked before finally welcoming her miracle child. She revealed that she endured multiple failed IVF treatments and several miscarriages all without any medical explanation.
“Hope felt like a myth,” she wrote. “It wasn’t easy, but we kept trusting God.”
Sunmbo recalled how her mother remained her pillar of strength, constantly reassuring her that she would one day hold a living baby in her arms. That day eventually came, unexpectedly, during a birthday photoshoot for her husband.

“In the middle of laughter and dancing, the miracle clicked,” she said, recounting the moment her pregnancy began to grow. But fear soon crept in, memories of previous miscarriages made her anxious, especially as she passed the stage where losses had happened before.
It was her older son, Nino, who snapped her out of the fear.
“He told me, ‘Don’t let fear steal our joy,’” she said. “I chose joy from that moment on.”
Her pregnancy progressed smoothly, and her friends threw her the first baby shower she had ever experienced. Despite concerns from others who urged her not to share the moment publicly, Sunmbo posted the photos online in faith.
“They told me to take it down, but I left it there as a sign,” she wrote. “He who began a great work in me will indeed bring it to perfection.”
And God did, she said. From labor to theatre, the journey ended in triumph with the birth of their son, David. It was a moment of deep significance, especially for her husband, Pastor David Adeoye, who had waited 21 years to have a biological child.
“He stood by my side, praying, watching, fighting,” she said. “When David was born, his 21 years of waiting came to an end.”
“I return with this testimony to thank God for the perfection that is Prince David the Champion,” she wrote. “To anyone holding on to God and believing for a settlement my God will make you laugh. God can be trusted.”
