Nigerian recording artiste, Oludemilade Martin Alejo, who is better known as Ycee, is currently at loggerheads with popular skit maker, Gilmore, on the microblogging site, X, following a difference in the perception of governance and ideologies.

According to the singer-songwriter, most Nigerians are unable to request better governance due to their inability to focus on what is worthwhile and progressive; instead, they turn serious issues into skits and jocular content.

The conversation on the microblogging site, X, started when the musician quoted a skit shared by the foremost skit maker, Gilmore, who made a satire about the infamous ‘akara’ and ‘kuli kuli’ business suggestions made by the first lady of Nigeria, Remi Tinubu.

The skit featured the title, ‘Sell akara and get rich.’ Reacting to the video, Ycee made a quote about a nation of fools having something to laugh about.
