Biola Bayo, Nollywood actress and podcaster has responded to online trolls mocking her over her failed marriage.
In a video shared online, Biola reminded her critics that she is human and that she posted about her marriage to prevent others from controlling her narrative. However, she noted that people have used her openness against her.
Biola also revealed that she informed her estranged husband about the post before sharing it, and he is aware that she is not the person people perceive her to be. “I am human. The other time I posted about my marriage, it was because I didn’t want people to tell my story for me, yet you all used it against me. I told my husband before I posted, so he was aware of the post. He knows I am not what people say I am, but God will reward everyone,” she said.

The actress had recently announced that she and her husband have been separated since April last year and have decided to co-parent their son in a mature and peaceful manner. In her announcement, Biola apologized to those who might be disappointed and expressed her wish that her marriage had worked out. However, she emphasized the importance of moving forward and staying alive to tell her story.
Biola also shared the emotional toll of her situation, revealing that she has been crying almost every night for the past 14 months. Despite her efforts to help others through her podcast, she has been struggling to cope with her own marital issues.
The news of Biola’s divorce sparked reactions from other celebrities, including singer Portable, who mocked her for interviewing other people’s wives while her own marriage was failing. Laide Bakare also drew attention for a video she shared, initially appearing to shade Biola before clarifying that she was celebrating her daughter’s graduation and had no intention of shaming her colleague. Laide ultimately sent prayers to Biola, referring to her as her sister.
