Nollywood icon Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde received a touching surprise from her second daughter Meraiah Ekeinde during the premiere of her directorial debut, Mother’s Love, held in Lagos on Sunday.
The star-studded event, which took place at the Mike Adenuga Center in Ikoyi, brought together notable figures from entertainment, politics, and beyond. Among the attendees were former President Olusegun Obasanjo, actresses Sola Sobowale and Ruth Kadiri, former senator Dino Melaye, and media personality Denrele Edun.
While at the backstage taking pictures, Meraiah who lives abroad, unexpectedly walked in to greet her mother. The moment was filled with joyful hugs and excitement from family members, including her elder sister Princess Ekeinde.
During the event, the actress also introduced her first daughter, Princess, to former President Obasanjo.
Marking her debut as a director, Mother’s Love tells an authentic, grounded story about women, motherhood, family bonds, and everyday realities, a passion Omotola has long championed. The film, featuring a talented cast, is scheduled to hit cinemas nationwide starting March 6, 2026.
