Foremost Nigerian adult movie actress and content creator Gray Africana has opened up about a traumatic past encounter with a Catholic priest.

Speaking on the Outside the Box podcast, she alleged that a reverend father demanded sex in exchange for shelter after her family kicked her out.

Gray Africana recounted the harrowing experience, which she says occurred long before she entered the adult entertainment industry. After being chased out of her house by her uncle in the Chevron area of Lagos, she sought refuge at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church, one of the largest parishes there. Desperate and stranded, she begged to sleep within the church premises for safety.

Instead of receiving sanctuary, she claims the resident priest gave her a disturbing ultimatum. “He said that if I wanted to stay there, he had to sleep with me first,” she revealed.

When she confronted him over the hypocrisy of his demands versus his role on the altar, the situation escalated. “Na once he lands me slap. Because he was shocked that I could boldly talk to him,” she told the host.

The creator explained that she was forced to spend the night on the streets, surviving only by using her last ₦1,000 to buy cannabis for local street boys to secure their protection.

The host clarified that at the time of the incident, Gray Africana was just a vulnerable young girl looking for help, not the famous adult star she is today.

Reflecting on why she no longer attends church, she criticized the lack of conscience among religious leaders who preach against sin but practice the opposite in secret. “I usually kneel in my house and pray to God, but I can’t be in two ways,” she stated, adding that she prefers the brutal honesty of the streets over the hypocrisy she witnessed in the church.
