Nigerian actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia has broken her silence after facing heavy criticism from netizens for congratulating fashion designer Luminee Abiodun Tokunbo, wife of actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, on the birth of their son.
The backlash erupted after Macaulay dropped a heart emoji on Luminee’s post announcing the arrival of their baby boy. Many social media users slammed her for seemingly overlooking Baba Ijesha’s controversial past involving a high-profile child sexual assault conviction.
In a now-viral post found in the comment section, Macaulay expressed genuine confusion and distress over the insults directed at her. She explained that Luminee had designed a beautiful dress for her a few months ago, and when she saw the maternity announcement on her timeline, she simply offered congratulations without knowing the full context.

She added that she knows nothing about Luminee’s personal life beyond the professional dress-making relationship and pleaded with followers to enlighten her.
The incident has sparked divided reactions online, with some praising her innocence and others maintaining that public figures should be more mindful of associations.
