Music executive and entrepreneur Abisoye Olukoya has sparked conversation online after praising Asake’s meteoric rise in the Afrobeats scene, drawing bold comparisons between the singer’s success and that of global superstar Wizkid.
In a post shared on his Instagram account, Olukoya described Asake’s breakthrough as one of the most remarkable the genre has witnessed in recent years.

According to him, the only artist whose rise he could liken to Asake’s was Wizkid, noting that the Grammy Award winner experienced a level of popularity that made “the whole world want to touch him”.
Olukoya suggested that such worldwide fascination is rare and reserved for only a handful of African musicians who manage to transcend borders and capture mainstream attention across continents.

In his words” The only one blow i can compare to Asake blow was wizkid blow, Wizkid is the only artiste that blew in the way that he made the whole world want to touch him.
“Asake is the first Afrobeats artist e that did not do Club tour. Asake’s shows at O2 Arena, people were crumbling on each other.”
