The video, which went viral, showed Asherkine met a young woman working at a canteen in Ogun State. He surprised her with an extravagant gesture by flying her to South Africa for a luxurious experience, complete with travel, gifts, and “princess treatment.”

In a recent post on X, Asherkine addressed the backlash head-on, defending the video’s authenticity and dismissing the scripted claims as baseless. He emphasized that the story unfolded as shown, rejecting accusations of fabrication.

Known for his random acts of kindness often involving cash, shopping sprees, or dream trips funded partly by brand partnerships, the content creator frequently shares such heartwarming stories to inspire his followers.

However, shortly after posting, mixed reaction flooded social media as viewers pointed to the woman’s calm reaction, quick family approval for travel, close physical interactions, and prominent brand placements (including items from Yehmolee, Zlatan’s brand, and others) as signs the philanthropy was pre-planned or scripted for content.

Others argued it resembled a promotional skit rather than a genuine random act, claiming the woman might already know Asherkine.

The controversy highlights ongoing debates about “philanthropic content” on social media rumors have it that some of this exorbitant giving are for content or staged in some cases.
