EThe document explains the grounds for the application by citing Sections 36 and 6(6)(c) of the 1999 Constitution. It also states that “the applicant is an aspirant to the stool of the Awujale of Ijebu land in Ogun State.”The document also argues that the court should use its power to grant an interim injunction to “secure the interest of the applicant and preserve the res from being dissipated or interfered with by the respondents.”
This suit adds a new legal angle to the process of choosing the next Awujale of Ijebuland. The court will now decide if the installation process should be paused until the main case is resolved.
Earlier, the Fusengbuwa Ruling House in Ijebu-Ode rejected KWAM 1’s claim of lineage and declared his completed linkage form invalid.
The Fuji musician had announced he wanted to become the Awujale of Ijebuland, basing his claim on supposed family ties to the Fusengbuwa Ruling House. This claim has been challenged.
However, in an official letter dated December 11, 2025, and signed by key officers of the ruling house, the family confirmed they received the completed particulars and linkage form from Otunba Adesanya.
