In an interview with Saturday Beats, BamBam explained that she only accepts such roles when she feels spiritually and mentally ready, highlighting how her sensitivity as a performer influences her choices.

I’m a very sensitive actor. I try to avoid deeply spiritual films, especially when I’m not sure or spiritually ready for them,” she said, revealing a more introspective side of her creative process.

BamBam, who has steadily transitioned into acting since her reality TV days, stressed that portraying any character on screen requires intense emotional and mental preparation.

BamBam revealed that every script demands an understanding of the character’s psychological makeup in order to deliver a believable performance. Citing a recent role, she noted, “When you get a script, you step into the role of that character… Acting is about understanding where your character is coming from so you can react as they would.”

Speaking further, she also addressed the stigma reality TV stars face in Nollywood. According to her, many filmmakers are hesitant to cast former Big Brother Naija contestants, doubting their acting capabilities. “I’ve heard stories that they don’t like casting ex–Big Brother Naija housemates because they don’t trust their delivery,” she said.

Despite this industry bias, BamBam remains undeterred. She credits YouTube and other digital platforms for helping her showcase her acting range and talent beyond the reality TV tag. “Thank God for YouTube… it has given me an opportunity to prove myself,” she said confidently.

However, with a growing filmography and an unwavering commitment to authenticity, BamBam continues to carve a niche for herself as a serious, sensitive, and evolving Nollywood actress.
