There are 29 contestants in the house, all vying for the grand prize worth N150 million. It is important to note that this is the highest amount in the history of the competition; therefore, it simply means the organisers have received more sponsorship deals, exposure to broader audiences, and the show has a new marketing strategy, which is to appeal to a budding generation of creatives, idealists, and entrepreneurs.

Before the commencement of the new season, several netizens complained about the struggle of the average citizen, some complained about the economic hardship, and heinous experiences. As the government officials take away the commonwealth of citizens of Nigeria, a reality show such as Big Brother Naija brings back hope; a usually divisive nation, Big Brother Naija unites tribes, various ethnicities, and cultures as the show itself involves natives of Nigeria from different parts of the country. These are some of the key elements that make BBNaija a worthwhile watch.

The contestants have been able to bring adequate drama and chaos within the first couple of days in the house. Should they maintain this energy, it’ll go down in history as one of the most entertaining Big Brother Naija shows in history.

2. Young Demography

The average age in this season’s edition is 22. That is, the youngest contestant is around 21 and the oldest is a 44-year-old Ivatar. Interesting times.

While Big Brother Naija has suffered a decline in popularity in recent years, this new edition has ushered in a new generation of players who are looking to express their creativity and enthusiasm to the world. This explains why there are so many entrepreneurs in the house and not burgeoning musicians and struggling actors who can’t get a breakthrough movie role.

Big Brother Naija contestants are simply representatives of the average Nigerian youth; therefore, a young populace would bring in persons of similar age.

A good selection from the show organisers.

3. Face Cards

The housemates are good-looking people, I mean, almost everyone has a 10/10 face card. From housemates such as Dede, Isabella, to male housemates such as Bright, Kaybobo, the list goes on. Everyone has a presentable face card that deserves to be on the television screen.

Physical appearance and beauty would bring you viewers, but personality, character, and storytelling would keep the audience enthralled. Interestingly, with the incessant feuds and budding love stories in the house already, these contestants are leaving no stone unturned. They want to be here, and they brought their best game.

BBNaija is more than a form of entertainment for most Nigerians; it’s about escapism and the desire to live vicariously through some of their faves. When the average lady sees someone such as Mide, they desires her cat eyes, some want the aura and masculinity of Kaybobo, those who have no friends want to attend a pool party and cruise with their loved ones, just like the contestants on BBNaija.

Dreaming is free, and Big Brother Naija presents Nigerians with that opportunity to aspire for what they want.
