Blaqbonez Explains Why he Rejected $1M Marvin Records Deal

Nigerian rapper, Blaqbonez, has revealed why he rejected an offer to join Mavin Records despite being allegedly offered one million dollars.

The Nigerian rapper made this known via a short post on his official X handle.

According to Blaqbonez, one of the major reasons he declined the offer was that he does not enjoy being highly active on social media or constantly engaging fans online, which he suggested may not align with the demands of a major record label.

He wrote, “Need to get this off my chest before Chanel drops, the reason I didn’t sign to Mavin when they were begging me with a million dollars is cos i don’t really like posting, I prefer 1 tweet per year than engaging my fans, I’m too big for that, I’m mysterious.”

Equally, Emeka Akumefule, known professionally as Blaqbonez, is a Nigerian rapper and singer signed to Chocolate City.

Blaqbonez is popularly known for his distinct rap style as well as his creative ingenuity. In 2019, he was profiled by The New York Times as one of the new guards of Nigerian music.
