Veteran Nollywood actor Bob-Manuel Udokwu has stirred conversations online after sharing a heartfelt reflection on parental bonds and grief, stating that the loss of a mother is often more painful for children because of the unique closeness women tend to share with their families.
Bob Manuel while speaking candidly in an interview, remarked that mothers are usually more emotionally present in the day-to-day lives of their children, while fathers are often preoccupied with the responsibility of working hard to provide for the household.
According to him, this difference in roles can deepen the emotional impact children feel when they lose their mothers.

In his words: “Mother’s passing is usually more painful because women are closer to the children, fathers are busy working hard“.
His comments have resonated with many social media users, who described his statement as both relatable and thought-provoking.
Some agreed that mothers often serve as the emotional backbone of the home, while others emphasised that both parents play equally vital, though sometimes different, roles.
