Young Nigerians across the country have come out in numbers to protest against the arrest and continued detention of popular social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).
eelive.ng reports that the protesters seen, in some parts of Lagos and around Dantata bridge in Abuja, the federal capital territory (FCT), came out in their numbers holding placards bearing inscription such as “#ReleaseVDM” and “#FreeVDM”, same hashtags trending on social media since the arrest of the activist.

It would be recalled that social media influencer was arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at a branch of Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) in Abuja on May 2 on allegations of cyberstalking.
He had visited the GTB branch, where he complained about alleged unauthorised deduction of funds from his mother’s account.
