Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, has broken the record for the most Billboard U.S. Hot 100 entries by an African artist, moving ahead of Tems.
Both artists had eight entries each until Burna Boy gained another spot this week with his collaboration with Shakira on the 2026 World Cup song, “Dai Dai.”
The song entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number 75, bringing Burna Boy’s total to nine entries, the most ever for an African artist.
After Burna Boy and Shakira performed the song at the World Cup opening ceremony, it saw a boost in global streams and chart rankings.
