
Nigerian content creator Carter Efe, whose real name is Odahohwo Efe, has recorded major milestones following his recent collaboration with Afrobeats superstar Davido.
The breakthrough came after Davido appeared on Efe’s Twitch livestream on Wednesday, a session that attracted massive viewership and triggered a sharp rise in Efe’s follower count across the platform.
In the aftermath of the collaboration, Efe surpassed fellow Nigerian creator Shank Comics to become the most-followed African streamer on Twitch, amassing over 406,000 followers.

The livestream peaked at approximately 91,000 concurrent viewers, setting a new record as the most-watched Twitch broadcast in Africa. During the session, Efe also became the first African streamer to cross 30,000 subscribers on the platform.
The broadcast which trended on social media sparking reactions from Nigerians, featured surprise appearances one such as Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen and Davido’s wife, Chioma.

Speaking during the livestream, Davido reflected on friendship, drawing parallels between Efe’s bond with Kolu and his own relationship with his close associate Israel. “I’ve been seeing the relationship between you and Kolu. It’s just like how people laugh at me and Israel that’s one of my best friends.”
Carter Efe first rose to prominence through comedy skits and music. He later made history as the first content creator to top the Apple Music Nigeria chart and secure two Top 10 entries with his songs Machala and Oloun.
