Chidinma Ekile leaves secular music scene to pursue gospel

Ekile Chidirim

Former Project Fame star, Chidinma Ekile has now fully turned away from doing secular music. She changed her entire social media outlook recently to share the news. In a video she posted about a week ago, Ekile indicates that she is now a music minister.

She joins Nigerian prominent music ministers, Mercy Chinwo, Minister GUC and JudiKay on their record label, EeZee Global Ministry. Ekile confirms the news by adding the caption: “MY NAME IS MINISTER CHIDINMA EKILE. I’M A CRUSADER OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS. I’M A CRUSADER OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST.”

The video which introduced her new track, Jehovah Overdo also shows her ministering in the studio and in church. The song was released on her 30th birthday on May 2 under the new record label. The heartfelt lyrics read, “There is nothing you cannot do protocol breaker. There is nothing you cannot do Jehovah over do o.”

However, in a separate video, Ekile gave a testimony about the encounter she had with God that caused her to turn away from secular music. She said “I had an opportunity to spend time with Him. It was a very rare privilege to spend time with Him. He told me a lot of things and He said He has been waiting for me. He said, he’s been waiting for me, so He’s happy to receive me.”

Ekile was signed to Capital Hill records after she won the third season of the music talent show, Project Fame West Africa. There she released many hit songs, including, Emi ni Baller, Jankoliko and Kedike. A ‘welcome back home’ party was also thrown for her where she was officially received by other prominent music ministers in the country.

Ekile has followed this by posting inspirational and spiritual messages on her page. Her fans and other celebrities have shown her full support and continue to shower her with love. On Tuesday, she also went on to post a video of herself speaking Yoruba at a joint with some men. She was telling them to turn away from sin and follow God.
