TikTok content creator and blogger Blessing Ani, widely known online as Eddie Bliss or Eddieunfiltered, has publicly apologised to Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie and her family following her release from brief detention.
The apology comes after Mercy Johnson officially withdrew a defamation complaint filed by her husband, Prince Henry Okojie, which had led to Ani’s arrest in Abuja earlier this month.
In a widely circulated video posted on social media platforms, Ani expressed deep remorse for her actions.
She admitted to reposting unverified allegations from another online source claiming that Prince Okojie had impregnated a mistress, purchased a house for her, and that Mercy Johnson was involved in causing a miscarriage.
Ani clarified that she shared the content without proper verification and acknowledged the harm it caused to the Johnson-Okojie family.

“I am sincerely sorry for whatever damage I must have caused the family,” Ani stated in the apology video.
“I also want to say thank you very much ma for dropping the charges against me. You don’t know what you have done for my family and I,” she added.
She went further to vow that she would never repeat such behavior, not only toward Mercy Johnson but toward anyone else. “I have learnt my lessons and I promise never to post any defamatory video about you or anyone again,” she emphasized.
Ani’s arrest sparked mixed reactions on social media, with activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) pleading for leniency as the content creator was to walk down the aisle the week she was arrested. Mercy Johnson later announced the withdrawal of charges, citing respect for public sentiment and a desire to move forward.
Ani’s fiancé and family members also publicly expressed gratitude to Mercy Johnson, VDM, and supporters who intervened.
