Reality television star and media personality Natacha Akide, popularly known as SmplyTacha, has shared her thoughts on what she believes is Nigeria’s most pressing issue.
Taking to her X handle today, the former Big Brother Naija housemate argued that corruption is not the country’s biggest problem. Instead, she maintained that the root of Nigeria’s challenges lies in the lack of genuine patriotism among its citizens.
In her post, Tacha wrote, “Corruption is not Nigeria’s biggest problem. The real problem is the lack of love for the country. We don’t have enough people who genuinely care about Nigeria, and that’s where everything starts from.”
Tacha further explained that many Nigerians do not fully understand what it truly means to love their country. According to her, genuine love for Nigeria would naturally inspire citizens to act responsibly and prioritise the nation’s growth over personal gain.

“A large percentage of Nigerians don’t even understand what it means to love their country. Because if you truly love Nigeria, you will do right by it. And until that is fixed, we can’t make real progress,” she added.
