An Ikeja High Court has scheduled April 16, 2026, to deliver its ruling in a high-profile defamation suit filed by Pastor Chris Okafor against Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, social media influencer Martins Otse known as VeryDarkMan or VDM, and Kelvin Emmanuel.

Pastor Okafor instituted the legal action following allegations made by the defendants, which his legal team claims involve defamation, extortion attempts, and threats to release private materials such as chats and videos to damage his reputation, church (Grace Nation International, also called Liberation City), and ministry.

Earlier in the proceedings presided over by Justice Akintunde Savage, on January 22, 2026, the court granted an interim order restraining the defendants from mentioning or referring to Pastor Okafor, his church, or his ministry on any platform whether orally, in writing, or online pending the final determination of the substantive suit.

The dispute stems from a public feud involving allegations of manipulation, broken promises, and reputational harm, which have played out extensively on social media drawing a significant attention in Nigeria’s entertainment and religious circles.

Doris Ogala has previously countered with her own claims, including a reported suit against the pastor, while VDM’s involvement expanded the controversy through online commentary.
