During an interview with BBC pidgin, Nkubi and his wife stated how they have been subjected to hurtful remarks on social media, with some users making unpleasant comments about their child’s appearance and their family.

In Nigeria, cyberbullying is considered a crime under the Cybercrime Act of 2015. Individuals found guilty of cyberbullying can face imprisonment or fines. Despite this law, cyberbullying remains a prevalent issue, with many victims suffering in silence.

As a public figure, Nkubi has learned to navigate the challenges of online scrutiny. However, the situation becomes more sensitive when it involves his family, particularly his child. Nkubi and his wife have had to deal with the emotional toll of cyberbullying, ensuring that it does not affect their mental well-being and relationship.
