Popular singer and showbiz entrepreneur, Darey Art-Alade, has spoken about how he and his wife, Deola, have managed to grow their marriage and business side by side.
In a recent interview, the 43-year-old said their journey together started from a strong friendship built on respect. According to him, that bond made it easier for them to blend both their professional and personal lives.
“We always just do things together. Once you enjoy each other’s company and admire each other, everything else follows. She even opened my social media accounts for me when I was still an artiste. That is the level of friendship we had,” Darey recalled.

He explained that while both of them are naturally creative, over time their roles became clearer, he now focuses on the creative direction, while Deola takes charge of the business side.
“Even though she is a core creative, she started handling the business, and I stuck more to the creative work. We just cross-pollinated. I learned from her and she also picked up things on the entertainment side, which wasn’t her natural area,” he said.
The singer stressed that their success didn’t come overnight but through patience, teamwork and constant learning.
“We both learned along the way, kept growing stronger, and played to each other’s strengths while covering each other’s weaknesses. You won’t have it all figured out immediately, but with willingness, understanding and cooperation, it works. One person cannot do everything,” he added.
Darey also noted the importance of unity in marriage and business. “Try not to carry pride. It should be both of you against anybody else. Behind closed doors, you can sort out what went wrong or how to do things better.”
