The daughters of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have made emotional public appeals for specialised medical assistance as their father battles advanced cancer.
Lima and Kira Taiwo posted separate videos on Instagram on Monday, stating that hospitals have declined to continue treatment.
The 66-year-old actor, a familiar face in Yoruba cinema with a career spanning over four decades and more than 300 films, was diagnosed only about three weeks ago. His daughters said his outward appearance had previously masked the severity of the illness.
In her video, Lima described the situation as critical and urged anyone with connections to cancer specialists or facilities willing to take on the case to come forward. She stressed the family was not seeking financial donations, only treatment opportunities. She also thanked a relative for providing significant support.

Kira confirmed the cancer is at stage four and said hospitals had indicated chemotherapy could no longer be administered. She appealed for any medical or alternative intervention that might help and expressed gratitude to Senator Yayi for covering costs so far. Both daughters emphasised their fear of losing their father and pleaded for contacts who could assist.
As of the latest reports, the family and the actor’s management had not released an official statement detailing the specific type of cancer or the hospitals involved.
