Nigerian comedian Deeone has publicly criticised Afrobeats star Davido for failing to attend or publicly congratulate longtime associate Soso Soberekon on his recent wedding.
Soberekon, a prominent music executive and talent manager also known as White Lion, married Princess Ebiere of the Gbaramatu Kingdom. Traditional rites took place on July 22 in Benikrukru, Delta State, followed by a lavish ceremony on Saturday, July 25 in Warri.
The star-studded event featured performances by 2Baba and Timi Dakolo and drew guests including Iyabo Ojo, E-Money, Kcee, Ini Edo, Cubana Chief Priest, Zlatan and others.

In a video posted around July 27, Deeone expressed surprise at Davido’s absence, noting the pair’s years of friendship and industry ties. He claimed no representatives from Davido’s circle attended and that the singer offered no social media congratulations.
Deeone further alleged jealousy, describing Davido as envious of colleagues who achieve greater success and questioning the value of their long association.
Multiple reports and guest lists from the Warri event make no mention of Davido. While the two have a documented close relationship, with Soberekon frequently appearing in Davido’s circle, the singer’s reasons for non-attendance remain unconfirmed.
The comments have sparked online debate about loyalty and support within Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
