Nigerian singer Davido is currently under social media scrutiny after posting photos of himself aboard a private jet, shortly after a viral laptop donation appeal gained national attention.
The initiative, called the 10k Laptops Project, was launched in early December 2025 by Dr. Ayilola, an emergency medicine physician, with the goal of providing 10,000 laptops to Nigerian youths. The project aims to equip young people with devices to help them learn tech, design, and entrepreneurial skills amid growing economic hardship in the country.

So far, over ₦21 million has been raised ₦20 million of it donated by music producer Don Jazzy. Around 34 laptops have already been distributed, with recipients sharing unboxing videos. Dr. Ayilola has provided regular transparent updates, including receipts and security tagging by the EFCC.
However, the project’s ambitious ₦2 billion target has drawn skepticism from some online users who demand more proof of progress. At the same time, Davido, who is widely known for his philanthropy especially his famous ₦300 million donation to orphanages has not yet publicly supported the initiative.
