Nigerian comedian Aderombi Adedayo Martin, popularly known as Deeone, has announced plans to break the Guinness World Record for the longest stand-up comedy performance.
Deeone’s record-breaking attempt is scheduled to take place from October 2-4, 2025, at Pallazo Lagos, Opebi, Ikeja where he will perform for 40 hours, aiming to surpass the current record of 40 hours, 16 minutes, and 48 seconds held by Benny Elbows from the USA.

Deeone is a Nigerian comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate who has gained popularity for his posts on social media and has been embroiled in several controversies.
He was accused of being gay by fellow ex-Big Brother Naija housemate Phyna after he publicly discredited her claim of rejecting a N5 million offer for sex at a nightclub. He denied the allegations, stating he doesn’t condemn gay people but was only retaliating against Phyna’s claims. He later made similar allegations against VeryDarkMan, claiming he was “into men”.

Deeone has also been involved in a heated dispute with VeryDarkMan over how he handles donations to his NGO, demanding transparency and accountability and giving VDM an ultimatum to update the public about the funds. VDM has since responded with threats to sue Deeone over the gay allegations.
Deeone went further, accusing VDM of taking N20 million from the NGO account to buy a Range Rover.
Deeone’s feud with VDM however, led to a fallout with Nedu Wazobia, a media personality who hosted a podcast called “The Honest Bunch”. Deeone claimed he used Nedu as bait to get VDM, alleging that Nedu had selfish intentions and was trying to exploit VDM’s influence for personal gain. Nedu eventually resigned from the podcast amid mounting pressure and public backlash.
Deeone also recently sparked controversy by claiming that Genevieve Nnaji’s low online presence is damaging her brand, suggesting that she needs to be more active on social media to stay relevant.
He has been involved in public feuds with several other celebrities, including PSquare, whom he criticized for quarreling publicly. He also ridiculed Nons Miraj for gifting a viral fish pie vendor a car instead of providing business capital.
