Nigerian comedian Aderombi Adedayo Martin, Deeone has waded into the controversy surrounding Obi Cubana’s adopted son, Chidi, and his claim of being the billionaire’s next of kin.

In a candid assessment, Deeone attributed the criticism directed at Obi Cubana for clarifying who his real next of kin is to people who are not married and therefore lack a deep understanding of family dynamics.

He said: “All of you criticizing Obi Cubana, you’re not married, that’s why you’re talking. If you’re married, your wife will never, no woman in this life will ever take that kind of statement lightly, Obi Cubana’s adopted son talking about him being next of kin na nonsense to most women, no woman go take am and na his wife go tell am ‘go clear this thing for the same online if you want peace to reign.”

According to Deeone, no woman, particularly one with biological children, would take kindly to an adopted son making such a claim. He believes that Obi Cubana’s response was necessary to set the record straight and avoid any potential conflict within the family.

Deeone emphasized that Chidi is already privileged to be associated with the Obi Cubana’s family and should focus on leveraging the opportunities available to him rather than seeking recognition as next of kin. “You’re already privileged to be in that home and to be affiliated with that family, so don’t misuse it. Moreso the wife has a son and this adopted son e senior the real son, him eye don dey chook.” He warned against people on social media creating unnecessary tension between Obi Cubana and his adopted son by spreading negative comments.

The comedian advised Chidi to appreciate the privileges he has and avoid misusing them. Deeone stressed the importance of being realistic and understanding the complexities of family relationships, particularly when it comes to adopted children and biological children.
