Nigerian music executive and Mavin Records founder, Don Jazzy, has revealed that between four million to five million was spent to promote the global hit song ‘Calm Down’ by Rema, featuring Selena Gomez.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Bounce Podcast, Don Jazzy opened up about the massive investment it took to push the record to international success. He explained that breaking into global markets requires more than just talent; it demands serious financial backing, strategic planning, and the right partnerships.
In his words: “We Spent close to 4-5 Million Dollars to get ‘Calm Down’ to where it is”.
Don Jazzy, a respected producer and music mogul, is widely credited for shaping the careers of top Nigerian artists like Rema, Tiwa Savage, and Ayra Starr. His label, Mavin Records, is one of the most successful in Africa.

However, ‘Calm down’ became a global sensation, charting on the Billboard Hot 100 and achieving multi platinum certifications in several countries. The remix with Selena Gomez further boosted its international appeal.
