Actress Stella Damasus recently paid a heartfelt tribute to her late husband, Jaiye Aboderin, 21 years after his untimely passing, as she joined their daughters Angelica and Isabel to accept a posthumous award on his behalf at the AMAN Awards.
In an emotional video shared on Instagram, Stella’s daughters were seen delivering a moving speech while accepting the award, honoring their father’s legacy.
Stella expressed her deep love and continued remembrance of Jaiye.
In her words, she said “21 years later, and we will continue to keep your legacy alive. I know you’d be so proud of how the girls have turned out. I give all glory to God because He genuinely gave us two amazing, beautiful, intelligent, and supportive girls. Jaiyejeje Aboderin, we love you forever, and we miss you so much. May his soul continue to rest in peace. Thank you to @amanawards for honoring him with this posthumous award.”

Jaiye Aboderin, who was a singer, businessman, and co-founder of the musical band Synergy, passed away suddenly on December 3, 2004, at the age of 33 after collapsing during a basketball game. His death left a lasting impact on Stella and their young daughters, who have continued to honour his memory over the years.
The award was presented by the Artiste Managers Association in Nigeria (AMAN) as part of their initiative to recognise individuals who have made significant contributions to Nigeria’s creative industry. The AMAN Awards aim to celebrate excellence in music, film, fashion, and visual arts, promoting innovation and professionalism in the entertainment sector.
The event also featured several Nigerian celebrities and entertainment icons. Stella was seen exchanging greetings with personalities like Bovi, Obi Cubana, Ali Baba, Frederick Leonard, and Don Jazzy, marking a night of recognition, reflection, and unity in the industry.
Stella’s emotional tribute and her daughters’ presence on stage served as a touching reminder of Jaiye Aboderin’s enduring influence and the strength of the family he left behind. The video has since drawn warm responses from fans and colleagues alike.
Stella Damasus remarried to Emeka Nzerebe in 2007, but the union ended after seven months. She later began a relationship with film maker, Daniel Ademinokan in 2011, marrying him 2014, however the couples separate in 2020 and finalised their divorce.
