Tyler Perry’s legal team has vehemently denied allegations of sexual harassment and assault made by actor Derek Dixon, who appeared in 85 episodes of Perry’s BET drama series “The Oval.”
According to Dixon’s lawsuit, Perry’s behaviour escalated from “strange and untowardly messages” to alleged assaults, including groping and pinning Dixon against a wall, between 2019 and 2023.

Perry’s lawyer, Matthew Boyd, called the allegations “fabricated” and accused Dixon of orchestrating a scam. Boyd stated, “This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam. Tyler will not be shaken down, and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.”

Dixon claims the stress of the ordeal led to him being prescribed antidepressants and relocated to Santa Monica, California, to recover mentally and physically. The lawsuit seeks $260 million in damages. Perry’s team remains confident the claims will fail, amid Perry’s recent releases, including his Netflix film “Straw” and upcoming film “Madea’s Destination Wedding”.
