
The family of popular Nigerian gospel singer Bunmi Akinnanu, best known for her hit song “Omije Ojumi,” has released her burial date after she was reportedly died.
As reported by eelive.ng, Akinnanu died on Wednesday, January 14, after a prolonged battle with leg ailment.
In a new development, Akinnanu’s family in a statement shared Saturday disclosed that ‘Service of Songs’ will be held on January 20th, followed by a Candlelight procession at LTV 8 Compound, Agidingbi Ikeja Lagos.

The statement also revealed that artiste night will hold same day 8pm -12pm Multi-purpose Hall LTV8 Agidingbi Ikeja Lagos, while burial will hold on Wednesday, Jan 21st.
Before her death, the singer had publicly appealed for prayers and divine healing. Her condition became a subject of concern after a video of her looking visibly unwell surfaced online.
In the footage, Bunmi Akinnanu was seen struggling to speak and shedding tears during a prayer session.

She had a bandage on her hand, while her leg appeared swollen. During the session, a pastor prayed for her healing, encouraging her to keep faith and trust God for recovery and testimony.
Weeks later, fellow gospel singers Yinka Alaseyori and Sarah Apekeola took to social media to seek financial support for her medical care. Other artistes, including Olabest, Alayo Melody, and Lanre Alewilese, also joined in appealing to fans and well-wishers for assistance.
