Popular comedian and skitmaker, Kelvin Anagbogu, widely known as Lord Lamba, has stirred conversations on social media after making a statement about relationships and financial responsibilities.
Taking to his official X handle, the comedian wrote, “If she is able to pay all her bills without your assistance, she cannot listen to you.”
The short post quickly attracted reactions from fans and social media users, with many weighing in on whether financial dependence or independence should determine respect and submission in relationships.

Some users disagreed with Lord Lamba’s statement, stressing that mutual respect should not be tied to money. One X user responded, “Paying bills doesn’t cancel mutual respect. Independence is not a license for pride, and providing isn’t a ticket for control. Relationship na partnership, not boss and employee vibes.”
Another user added, “A woman who truly loves you will naturally be supportive and submissive, whether or not she pays her own bills. Some women simply want to love and be loved in return.”
On the other hand, some women insisted that financial contribution plays a major role in how seriously they take men. One lady commented, “As I’m paying my bills by myself, you have to be doing more than just paying bills for me to take you serious.”
Another user countered Lord Lamba’s claim by saying, “It simply means she doesn’t love you. Well-to-do women submit to the men they love in real life, forget the social media brags.”
