Nigerian Afrobeats artiste Fido has issued a heartfelt public apology following recent controversy surrounding his comments and actions, admitting that fame and inexperience influenced some of his past decisions.
In a candid statement shared with his fans and the wider Afrobeats community, the fast-rising singer acknowledged that stardom came into his life rapidly, leaving him to navigate personal growth under intense public scrutiny.
“There’s no easy way to write this, so I’ll just say it plainly. I messed up,” he began, setting a tone of accountability and reflection.

Fido admitted that along his journey he “said things that should never have been said” and allowed “ego, excitement, and inexperience” to shape certain choices.
He stressed that those actions do not represent the man he aspires to become, adding that he has chosen humility and self-examination over pride.

Addressing his supporters directly, the artiste apologised to fans who stream his music, defend him and continue to believe in him. He also extended his apology to the global Afrobeats community, including the legends and pioneers who paved the way for emerging talents.
Emphasising personal development, Fido stated that he is still learning and evolving but has taken the lessons seriously. He promised that his forthcoming music would reflect a “deeper” and “more grateful” perspective.
However, concluding his message on a determined note, the singer declared, “This is growth. This is maturity. This is me doing better. It’s game time again.”
