Charly Boy, a veteran entertainer and activist, has praised Nollywood actor Yul Edochie for his recent call for a South East presidency in Nigeria.
Edochie had declared in a video that “the next President of Nigeria should come from the South East. In fairness and equity. That’s just the truth and how it should be.” This statement comes as a surprise to many, given Edochie’s consistent support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in the past.

Edochie’s stance on the South East presidency is rooted in his belief that the region has been marginalised in Nigeria’s political power structure. He emphasises the importance of fairness, equity, and national unity in the country’s leadership structure.
Charly Boy commended Yul Edochie for his change of heart, saying “Yul Edochie finally sees the light. Thank God you don dey change lane.” However, Charly Boy is not the only one who finds Yul’s sudden change as a surprise, here are reactions from netizens who also had one or two to say about his switch:

@shogo_adeyemi: “After so much hustling no reward and no recognition hence a U turn is needed. But remember power is never given freely, you negotiate, work and build bridges across the divide.”
