Nollywood actor and filmmaker Ugezu Ugezu has sparked a heated debate with his recent advice to men who sponsor women’s education.

According to Ugezu, paying a woman’s school fees or providing financial support does not automatically guarantee marriage. In a post on his Instagram page, he cautioned men against feeling entitled to marriage simply because they’ve helped shape a woman’s life financially.

Ugezu’s statement has received mixed reactions from social media users, with some agreeing that financial support shouldn’t imply a lifelong commitment, while others argue that it’s only fair to expect marriage if a man has invested heavily in a woman’s education.

“Don’t let a man support you through school if you’re certain you won’t marry him; that’s fraud,” user @vee.vee_yhen commented.

“And as a man, don’t pay any ladies school fees except it’s what you want to do willingly. The moment you start playing a fatherly role their will always be a guy playing the boyfriend role. Be Wise,” cryptonite commented.

”Have the mindset that every help given to anyone is for the wellness of your heart and humanity. Do not have any expectations, infact count it as nothing. Practice and your life will be more peaceful,” Creator JD wrote.
