Friends of Esther Thomas, also known as Sunshine, are asking the public to help them raise funds for her burial.
The deceased creator friends made the appeal in a collaborative post shared on Instagram on Tuesday, where they also addressed what they described as false narratives surrounding her death and explained the circumstances that led to it.
One friend, speaking for the group, said that Sunshine became sick and went to a pharmacy, where she fainted. A good Samaritan took her to the hospital, where doctors found she had an ulcer, a kidney infection, and large fibroids.

She was admitted to the hospital and treated for the ulcer and kidney infection. Later, she had surgery to remove the fibroids. The friend said the surgery went well, but afterwards, Sunshine started to feel cold and then passed away.
They also shared that Sunshine was an orphan and only had a brother. They emphasised that their account is the accurate version of what happened.
In their caption, the friends wrote, “We the committee of friends are seeking support from the general public as we are now saddled with the responsibility of giving Esther Thomas aka Sunshine a befitting burial.”
They also appealed for urgent assistance, noting that they could not keep her in the mortuary much longer. They called on actors, creatives, fans, and the public to support.
They shared bank details and contact numbers for anyone who wanted to help or ask questions. Her family confirmed her death in an earlier statement, saying burial arrangements were ongoing and asking friends and supporters to respect their privacy.
She was known for her skits, modelling work, brand engagements and video appearances, and had built a growing presence across social media platforms
