Veteran Nigerian movie actress Genevieve Nnaji is currently under fire on the social media platform X for urging a netizen to ‘take accountability’ for false rape allegations.
Her tweet sparked predominantly negative reactions from netizens on the microblogging site X, due to the perceived insensitivity of her reply.

What Happened?
Last weekend, a netizen with the username @NnamaOge shared a tweet on X where she disclosed that she is intending to walk down the aisle with a Nigerian man who is from Anambra, a state in the Eastern part of Nigeria. The lady claimed that she is Rwandan; however, since she is in a relationship with a Nigerian person, she qualifies to identify as an ‘Igbo’. The tweet saw positive reactions from netizens who approved of her statement.
One of the commentators on X, @Onyeka_chii, also applauded her and urged other Igbo men to follow suit and desist from entering a relationship with Igbo women to avoid false rape allegations. Further, he admonished men to instead approach women from Easy Africa and build a relationship with them.

Reacting to Onyeka’s post on X, the veteran movie actress, Genevieve Nnaji, scolded the netizen, telling him to check himself and take responsibility, instead of continuing with ‘your evil’.
