There appears to be tension between Nollywood actress Aisha Lawal and her junior colleague, Adeyemo Adebola Seilat.
The drama started after Seilat, popularly known as Seiilat, took to her Instagram page to post a video in which she called out Aisha Lawal. In the video, Seiilat warned her senior colleague to stay away from her or face her anger. She stressed that being gentle should not be mistaken for being foolish.
Seiilat expressed her disappointment, saying that the same person she once respected and looked up to had made it a mission to frustrate her. According to her, respect should be mutual, but Aisha Lawal had continuously tested her patience and mistaken her calmness for weakness.

The Yoruba actress explained that she had been silent for a long time but could no longer endure the situation. She added that she was drained but would not allow anyone to dim her light.
In her words, “Tell Aisha Lawal to back off. If she doesn’t back off, she will find what she is looking for, and I do not care what happens. I have been talking to her, but she is not listening. Maybe she will listen to you all. Please help me warn her. Gentility is not stupidity.”

Reacting in the comment section, Aisha Lawal fired back at Seiilat. She challenged her to mention her name directly and accused her of speaking nonsense.
Aisha wrote, “If Dem born you well, tag me now. Rubbish. You people will just carry your phone and say rubbish.”
Seiilat quickly replied, vowing to prove that she is the true daughter of her father.
She wrote, “I will show you that I am a true daughter of Jimoh Adebowale.”
The clash between the two actresses sparked further reactions as skitmaker Woli Agba also called out Aisha Lawal. He stated that he preferred to make his grievance public instead of sending her a private message. Sharing a scene from the movie Jagun Jagun, where Aisha insulted him, Woli Agba criticized her for disrespecting him.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, Aisha Lawal had earlier granted an interview where she spoke about the contributions of Yoruba actors and filmmakers to Nollywood.
According to her, the Yoruba movie industry played a pioneering role in building Nollywood, and Yoruba filmmakers can rightfully claim ownership of the industry.
