Amid the ongoing conundrum in Nigeria, singer-songwriter, Omah Lay has stated neither God nor words of prayer can save his home country.

He insisted that until citizens began taking proactive actions, the country wouldn’t change for the better.

“No Jesus, no Allah, no prayer is saving us. Nothing changes until we wake TF up,” he wrote on his X handle on Thursday.

The singer commented against the backdrop of both Christian and Islamic clerics calling for prayers for Nigeria amid the escalating insecurity and economic hardship in the country.

Other celebrities such as Don Jazzy, Davido, Falz, Mr Macaroni, among others, have also reacted to the recent terrorist attack on a church in Kwara and the kidnapping of school girls in Kebbi state, calling on the relevant authorities to take urgent action.
