Nollywood actor Owolabi Ajasa has spoken warmly about his longtime colleague, Odunlade Adekola, describing the popular actor as a merciful, reliable and responsible person.
Ajasa reflected on their journey in the Yoruba movie industry, revealing that they both knew each other long before they became household names.
According to him, their friendship and professional relationship date back to the early stages of their careers.
The actor explained that he joined the movie industry in 1996, while Odunlade Adekola came into the industry in 1997.
Since then, the two actors have remained close, witnessing each other’s growth and eventual rise in the entertainment industry.

He said: “I joined the industry in 1996, Odunlade Adekola joined in 1997. Since then, we’ve been together before we even made names. Odunlade is a merciful person.
He continued:“Odunlade has never asked me, ‘How much do you want to pay me?’ whenever he’s on my set. He’s very reliable and responsible.”
He added: “I complained to him one time about not being in movie posters, and he said I should not run more than destiny. They will know when to add you.”
Ajasa’s remarks paint a picture of the relationship the two actors have shared over the years, particularly their journey from the early days of their careers to becoming recognised figures in the Yoruba film industry.

He particularly praised Adekola for his attitude towards working with colleagues, suggesting that the actor has always been supportive and dependable whenever he is needed on a movie set.
Ajasa also recalled a piece of advice Odunlade gave him when he expressed concerns about not appearing on movie posters.
Rather than encouraging him to become frustrated or impatient, Adekola reportedly advised him to allow destiny to take its course.
However, Adekola began his acting journey in 1996, while Ajasa has also previously stated in interviews that he joined the movie industry in 1997. Both actors have since built lengthy careers in the Yoruba movie industry.
