Nigerian gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has recounted his experience with a ‘juju man’ who tried to cast a spell on him.
Bassey while speaking during a worship session on the ‘Hallelujah Challenge’, disclosed that the incident occurred on the expressway and it was the second time the same person had approached him.
Bassey explained that the man knocked on his car and started casting a spell, hoping to control him and make him “do something.” Instead, Bassey laughed and began to recite Bible verses.
He said he quoted scriptures about divine protection, such as, “Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm” and “There is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel,” to show his belief that the spell would not work.
Bassey said he got out of his car and told the man to leave right away, but later wished he had kept the ‘juju man’ there until the police arrived.

He said, “I don’t know how we knew, but this was the second time that this same guy, the ‘juju man,’ was coming.
“One time on the express road, he came and knocked. He was casting an enchantment, hoping that it would influence me. He was commanding me to do something, but I just stood there and laughed.
“I said, didn’t they tell you that as they went from one kingdom to another, He suffered no man to do them wrong; He rebuked kings for their sake, saying, ‘Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm’?
“I just regretted that I should have kept him there for the police. While he was there, he was waiting for the spell to work on me. But Numbers 23:23 says there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel.
“I came out of my car and ordered him to get out of here, you dirty devil, quick. I’m not saying this to boast, but while we do not glorify the devil, there is wickedness in the world.”
