
Dominic Nwuzor, the former manager of legendary Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has made a heartfelt appeal to the Enugu State Government to provide scholarships for the late actor’s children.
Nwuzor noted that the educational support would empower Mr Ibu’s young children to build stable futures and become self-reliant. He specifically urged Governor Peter Mbah to consider the request, noting that the late actor’s talent had put Enugu on the global map.

“We have appealed for scholarship opportunities for the children, and will continue to do so, that something can be done,” Nwuzor stated. “His Excellency, Gov. Peter Mbah, we hope he will consider offering scholarships to the offspring of the man who used his talent to make the state proud across Africa and beyond.”

Nwuzor, who managed the actor for over two decades through his company Don Singles International, described Mr Ibu as a man who “truly made Africa laugh” and brought immense pride to Enugu State and Nigeria through his appearances in over 200 films.
Recall that the comic icon, who is from Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State passed away on March 2, 2024, at the age of 62 following prolonged health battles, including leg amputation and multiple surgeries, due to cardiac arrest.
