Japanese engineer Hideki Sato has died at the age of 77.

He was called the main creator of Sega consoles for his leading role in the development of the company’s home platforms, from SG-1000 to Dreamcast.

Sega was and remains an important part of the gaming industry. In the era of competition in the console market, it was a key player, and its hits remain in the memory of fans for decades.

On February 13, a well-known employee of the company, whom fans called the “creator of the legendary Sega consoles,” passed away. The news of his death spread on social networks, in particular through the Beep21 profile. Despite many achievements, Sato stopped actively participating in the company’s work around 2000, although he officially remained at Sega until 2003.
