How 2Baba Made Me Quit Music – Klint Da Drunk

Veteran Nigerian comedian Klint Da Drunk has opened up on how he gave up his early dream of becoming a musician after seeing Innocent Idibia better known as 2Baba perform when they were both students at the Institute of Management Technology in Enugu.
The 50 year-old made this known during an interview with Naija FM, explaining that he was pursuing music when a 2Face performance made him rethink his path.

“I used to be a musician until 2Face got admitted to my school, IMT. One day when he got on stage to perform at an event, I left the hall,” Klint recalled.

He explained that the performance had such an impact on him that he left suddenly and eventually quit music. “The organisers begged me to wait and perform after him. I agreed, but after hearing him sing just two lines, I went home. I didn’t know that my style and 2Face’s style were different. If I had known, I would have continued making music. But thank God I didn’t continue. I like where I am.”

Before turning to comedy, Klint appeared on the Nigerian hip-hop track ‘Obodo’ with rapper Mr Raw and co-founded a music group with him. Their group came in second at the 2002 Star Quest talent show, finishing behind KC Presh.
After switching to comedy, Klint found success and got opportunities in Nollywood. He has acted in movies like Men On The Run, Madam 10/10, Fast Cash, and Lost Kingdom.
2Face Idibia, now known as 2Baba, started his career at IMT in Enugu as a member of Plantashun Boiz. He later went solo with hits like African Queen, earning international recognition and awards.
