Vivian Nkwiruka, wife of popular Nigerian comedian and actor Nkubi with the real name Nwaogu Udochukwu Victor, has revealed a shocking encounter with a doctor during her pregnancy.
In a candid interview on Pulse Nigeria’s “Pulse One on One” show, Vivian recounted her experience while undergoing an anomaly scan (a prenatal ultrasound to detect fetal abnormalities). The doctor inquired if anyone in the family had dwarfism. She confirmed it was her husband, who lives with the condition.

According to Vivian, the doctor responded: “Why didn’t you go to your brother-in-law or go outside to get pregnant instead of getting pregnant for your husband? Or even get a sperm donor?”

She also mentioned a nurse making similarly discouraging remarks. Vivian described the comments as deeply hurtful and emblematic of widespread discrimination against little people in Nigeria, even within professional healthcare settings. “They’re not given equal rights in this country at all,” she stated.
The couple, who share a daughter, used the platform to highlight broader issues of stigma, ableism, and lack of empathy faced by individuals with dwarfism—from childhood bullying to societal prejudice.
