
Nigerian disc jockey, DJ Big N, has explained in a new interview why foremost music executive, Don Jazzy, decided to sign singer-songwriter, Ayra Starr, to his label, Mavin Records, in early 2021.
In a new interview with renowned media personality Adesope Oladeji, DJ Big N, who is affiliated with Don Jazzy’s record label, explained that the famous music executive is often impressed by the work ethics of burgeoning musicians.
Explaining some of the qualities that made Don Jazzy sign Ayra Starr, Big N mentioned that the renowned music producer is looking for a musician who isn’t lazy with their craft and is prepared to share their content. He went further to state that an upcoming musician should have at least 15 posts on their Instagram page.

“I can tell you for free, Ayra Starr was signed because Jazzy looked at her on Instagram,” Big N explained.
He went further to say, “Facts! No one brought her to him. Jazzy, will go to your Instagram to know about you.”
“Singers should have work ethics; hence, if they can’t put in the work with at least 10-15 posts on Instagram, why are they coming to stress my guy (Don Jazzy)?” Big N further explained.

Ayra Starr gained mainstream prominence in 2021 when she released her self-titled EP via Don Jazzy’s Mavins Record. She has since remained one of the prominent singers promoting Afrobeats culture in contemporary music culture.
