According to him, he repeatedly warned Ilebaye against giving the teenager “anything they call a drug,” but she allegedly ignored his pleas. He also accused Ilebaye and her mother of working together against him and frustrating his efforts as a father.

Odiniya went on to open up about his troubled marriage, revealing that Ilebaye once advised him to divorce her mother during one of their family disputes. He said he later divorced his wife in court, only for Ilebaye to question why he decided without informing her.
