Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold has opened up about his working relationship with his wife and fellow singer, Simi, describing it as smooth and natural.
In a recent interview, the “Ogaranya” crooner said their creative process flows easily because they both understand each other’s sound and style.

According to him, Simi often helps him improve his songs by adding background vocals or making small changes while mixing in the studio, sometimes even when he is not around.

Adekunle explained that their teamwork happens naturally and without stress. “My partnership with Simi is very seamless,” he said. “When I made Don Corleone, she was there listening to the chorus. Then she said she had an idea and wanted to add something. I told her to go ahead.
“She just said, ‘Go Kunle,’ and that was it. I thought it was smart. She was actually mixing the song at that time, so she just added her touch to it. Sometimes, when I send my songs to her for mixing, she adds backups or small things the song needs without me being there. It’s that easy.”
He also mentioned that he does the same for her. “When she writes songs and sends them to me, I tell her what I think she should add, and that’s it. We just work well together.”
Speaking on public claims that Simi focuses more on his career than hers, Adekunle Gold brushed off the talks, saying such comments do not bother them.
“All those things don’t affect me or my wife. We’re fine. We’re good,” he said confidently.
The singer, who has been married to Simi since 2019, added that their secret is mutual respect, love, and understanding, both at home and in music.
