
Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that one of his most successful songs almost failed to make the final cut of his album, a confession that surprised fans and industry watchers alike.
The singer shared the revelation during an interview with OkayAfrica on the red carpet at the Grammy.

Awards, offering a rare glimpse into the uncertainty that can exist behind even the biggest musical triumphs. Reflecting on the track’s journey, Davido admitted that it was initially close to being shelved before its eventual inclusion on the project.

In his words: “Its so Crazy because that song almost didn’t make the album & when it finally blew up, everytime i was performing it my heart just starts beating like what if I didn’t put this song”
He described the moment the song later exploded in popularity as surreal, explaining that each time he performed it on stage, he was overwhelmed by the thought of how differently things might have turned out.
According to the award-winning artiste, the realisation that the track could easily have been excluded left him both grateful and astonished at its success.
