Reekado Banks, Nigerian music star has revealed a surprising shift in his stance on marriage, saying he’s no longer certain about walking down the aisle anytime soon.
During a recent appearance on The Esther Show, the Oluwa Ni hitmaker admitted that his once-clear intentions to marry by the end of the year have changed. While he didn’t go into details, he suggested that personal growth has influenced his new outlook.
“In my last interview, which was two months ago, I was pretty sure about my stance. I said I would get married later in the year,” Banks shared. “But now, I’m in a very different place. So, I can’t say anything definite about getting married now. Back then, I was sure, but now I’m not.”
The singer, born Ayoleyi Solomon, clarified that his music career isn’t responsible for the change. Instead, he pointed to internal development and emotional maturity as key factors.
“It has nothing to do with my music career. It’s about me and my emotional intelligence, which I’m still working on,” he said.

Despite the uncertainty, Reekado Banks emphasized that he still believes in marriage, thanks to his upbringing, and hasn’t ruled it out completely.
Reekado Banks rose to fame in 2014 after joining Mavin Records, where he became a household name before exiting the label in 2018 to pursue an independent path. He has since continued to evolve, both musically and personally.
The singer has also raised concerns about an undisclosed music executive he claims is taking advantage of young talents.
While refraining from revealing the music executive’s identity, Reekado shared in a recent interview, the negative impact the individual has had on those who collaborate with him.
“There is one big man in the music industry who is demonic and taking advantage of young talents. I have worked with him before. Other young artists have also worked with him. I would not want to mudsling, you know, put his name through the mud, although the person knows himself.
“But I would like to educate people about the man, because according to everything that I have come to find out, everybody that he has worked with always encounters certain setbacks or finds themselves in a mess,” the singer said.
